"It isn't Rocket Science"
.....it just takes some instruction, patience and basic tools to build a competition powerglide. We also have a fantastic Powerglide Manual for the Do-it-Yourselfer; $19.95 plus $3.00 postage. I reference this book on every rebuild, it is great.
Rebuilding your own powerglide is easy and does not require many special tools. We can supply the tools you might need at low prices as well.
We would like to be your source for powerglide rebuilds. We can offer technical advice, low-cost special tools, competitive prices on rebuild kits and we can do custom machining on your components if you choose certain upgrades.
We realize shipping transmissions around the country is expensive and we are confident we can help you save a lot of money by learning to get your own powerglide ready for 2008.
Of course, we would be happy to rebuild your transmission or ship you a new one. We are here to help you make more trouble-free runs with a MPT Powerglide.

NO SILICONE.........PLEASE!
If you pull the pan on your powerglide to change oil or inspect the pan...PLEASE, DO NOT USE SILICONE to reseal it. Either purchase a reuseable Duraprene gasket from us or use a new gasket. Small pieces of silicone can get in the valve body passages and cause all sorts of problems with operation of the transmission. If you have a leak, silicone is NOT the answer.

GROUND-IT!!!!!
Having inconsistent reaction times or is your transbrake "shuddering" when you hit the button? This could be an electrical problem. The transbrake solenoids MUST have a CLEAN GROUND to apply and to release correctly.
Do NOT use the transmission case, aluminum brackets or sheetmetal for the ground wire. We recommend running the ground wire to the negative post on the battery or a ground lug that is attached to the negative post of the battery.
