Race-prepped OEM case, billet 1.76, Pro-Brake, Deep alum. pan, MPT race pump, dual ring servo, HD tailhousing or shorty kit, trans-shield, 8-clutch high, 6-reverse and either Kevlar or composite band. This is NOT a slightly modified powerglide. It is a race-only unit built to handle up to 700 H.P. race after race.

Designed for the Modified bracket with under 500 H.P. 1.82 low gear with reinforced carrier, Bracket-Brake valve body, Hi-Performance clutches and band, MPT race prepped pump, Hi-flow oil filter, new cad-plated steel oil pan, hardened input shaft with either powerglide or turbo splines.

Designed for Mod and Top racers with up to 500 H.P. 1.76 planetary with 9310 pinion gear, Pro-Brake (engage trans-brake for reverse to work), Kevlar band, MPT race prepped pump, Hi-Flow filter, new cad-plated steel oil pan, hardened input shaft, new hi-perf cluthes and steels.
S/Pro 1.76: $1450.00 (requires OEM powerglide case core.)

This is a special-built powerglide. Not many racers need it but if you are using NOS with a doorslammer, or putting out in excess of 1,400 H.P. this might be the best investment in winning you can make. Want your current powerglide upgraded to handle more power or offer you more durability?
We have dozens of upgrades available. We can install them or you can order the parts to upgrade your powerglide if you do your own work.
We will NOT try to sell you something you don't need.
A good example is: If a racer has a 750 horsepower engine in a lightweight door car or a dragster they DO NOT need a Big Bully ($3250.00) powerglide. A quality rebuild, some pump upgrades, six high gear frictions and five reverse frictions with a good valve-body will serve you well for hundreds of runs. Our Pro-Glide, which sells for about $1495.00, is a great transmission for the money.
Torque Converters:
Probably the most talked about component in a winning drag car is the torque converter. It needs to produce a consistent launch and maximize the chassis' ability to keep the rear tires stuck to the start line.
